There continues to be a need to develop sustainable and efficient technologies for the conversion of lignocellulosic biomass to hydrocarbon fuels and chemicals. The use of biomass for these purposes becomes increasingly important as the nation strives to reduce its reliance on limited and foreign petroleum resources, and minimizes its carbon footprint, while maintaining America’s technological competitiveness and creating green jobs.
