摘要

Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) is a very low carbon fuel thatncan be produced from biogas, landfill gas, and a wide range of othernrenewable raw materials through pathways such as gasification andnpyrolysis. A major obstacle to the commercial viability of RNGnproduction projects is the high CO2 content (typically 30~60%) ofnthe raw gas streams. CO2 separation is often capital-intensive and hasna severely negative effect on the economic viability of the potentialnprojects. Converting the CO2 along with the CH4 into syngas ornhydrogen can help address this problem. The CO2 conversion option,nif available, is very attractive since it has the potential to create newnrevenue streams while eliminating CO2 separation costs. This studyncompares a newly developed metal-foam-coated 1.31 wt% [Pd(7)-nRh(1)]/(CeZrO2-Al2O3) catalyst with pellet type alumina-supportedn0.5 wt% Rh, 8 wt% Ru and 13 wt% Ni catalysts for steam-biogasnreforming.
