Pressureless sintering of Si_3N_4 ceramic using AIN and rare-earth oxides

摘要

Using intermediate, liquid-forming compositions in the (Y,La)_2O_3-AIN system as additives, fully dense Si_3N_4 ceram- ics with high strength at high temperature have been obtained by pressureless sintering, The ceramics contain rod-shaped ?-Si_2N_4 with M' or K' solid solutions as grain- boundary phases.
