摘要

Statistical design of experiment method was used to develop a tailor-made taphole mass for use in a blast furnace. Simulative testing equipment assessed its viability in actual working conditions. Maintenance of a strong and durable taphole for the duration of casting with steady metal flow rate is fundamental for consistent blast furnace operation and productivity. The taphole mass plays an important role in obtaining longer tapping time. The mass must have sufficiently high strength as well as high corrosion and abrasion resistance.
