Claude Picot, senior vice president of Compagnie de Saint-Gobain, has been named the Phoenix Award Glass Person of the Year for 2001. The annual award is given to an individual who has made noteworthy contributions in the glass industry in the field of science, production or education. Picot has been with Saint-Gobain since 1979, currently holding positions worldwide as president of the company's branch, chief executive officer of Saint-Gobain Emballage, chair of Saint-Gobain Containers, and director of several subsidiaries.
