摘要

A reproducible oxyfuel simulation test has been developed for testing superstructure refractories under conditions close to that of the industry, allowing evaluation of various conventional and experimental refractories. The crowns of soda-lime glass furnaces are generally fabricated from silica refractory brick. The dominant attributes of silica are low cost, low defect potential, high insulating capability, high creep resistance and low thermal expansion at high temperatures. However, corrosion resistance of silica brick to alkali attack is reduced under oxyfuel conditions.
