The Alberta (Canada) Energy Resources Conservation Board, referred to here as the ERCB or the board (and formerly the Alberta Energy Utility Board, or 'AEUB"), used alternative dispute resolution techniques to review oil sands applications in the 1980s, long before ADR became popular.rnADR was successful in these early cases and has continued to have considerable success in resolving issues between directly affected parties and oil sands proponents.
