John McAslan + Partners won the commission for the British Embassy in Algiers, Algeria, at the end of 2004, and developed the design with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) during 2005, working closely with project sponsor Peter Finch. By the time the practice had brought the project to outline design stage D, the FCO had set up a strategic partnership with Mace Internationalrnas project manager and main contractor.
