The firet Boeing 787 Dreamliner to arrive at London/Heathrow on a scheduled airline service landed some 35 minutes early on December 13, 2012. Onboard Qatar Airways' inaugural Flight QR075 was an official delegation from Doha including the carrier's Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al Bakerand His Excellency Michael O'Neill, British Ambassadorto the State of Qatar. "The Doha-Heathrow route is one of our most popular international routes and it was only fitting that we deploy our new aircraft to and from London," said the CEO at a press conference following the arrival. Since taking delivery of its first 787 four weeks earlier, the airline had been flying the aircraft between Doha and both Dubai and Kuwait, allowing cabin crew to familiarise themselves with the new type, but the flight to Heathrow was the first planned schedule with theaircraft. Its interior has 22 Business Class seats (one- two-one layout) and 232 in Economy Class (three-three-three).
