The FE model was solved for the four different CFRP stacking sequences and the results were plotted for von Mises stress and strain in the axial direction (direction of the load applied) and are shown in Figures 5-8 [Figure omitted. See Article Image.]. The properties of the CFRP were assumed transversally isotropic.
