C-130J MYP to be Signed

The delayed multi-year procurement (MYP) multi-service contract for 79 Lockheed Martin C-130J-series Hercules airframes is set to be signed in December. The contract covers 72 US Air Force aircraft (29 C-130Js, 25 MC-130Js, 13 HC-130JS and five AC-130Js) plus seven US Marine Corps KC-130Js. It will also include an option for five US Coast Guard HC-130J aircraft. The contract, which will cover Fiscal Years 2015 to 2020, is expected to cost about $5.8 billion, representing a 9.5% savings over buying the same aircraft via five annual contracts.
