Electric Air Strato's Maiden Flight

Flight tests of the ARCA Air Strato electrically-powered unmanned air vehicle (UAV) have begun in Romania. An initial hop was conducted to a height of 25m (82ft) from a rough-ground airstrip on February 13, the UAV having two additional electric motors added to shorten the take-off run and carrying ballast instead of the majority of its batteries. Slight damage was inflicted on the starboard landing gear upon touchdown.
