Teh fifth flight-test Boeing 787 Dreamliner, ZA005, had its wings and fuselage joined on January 29 at the company's Everett production facility at Paine Field, in Washington State. Major components for the aircraft had arrived at Everett from various sub-contractors four days earlier. They were aligned over the next few days prior to being mated. The process marks the resumption of 787 production after the strike in early November 2008. The aircraft is the first 787 destined to be powered by General Electric GEnx engines.rnWork continues on the other four aircraft ahead of ZA005, while components for the sixth flight test airframe are under construction. Power was restored to ZA001 earlier the samernweek and production testing has resumed. It is expected to make its first flight by the end of the second quarter of 2009. ZA002 has had its Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines installed, while ZA003 and ZA004 are in the third and second production positions in the factory, respectively. Work replacing faulty fasteners is complete on ZA001, with ZA002 also nearly ready (see 747-8 and 787 Delays, January, p15).
