On December 8, the Australian Defence Force announced selection of the Pilatus PC-21 trainer as part of its Project Air 5428 Pilot Training System for all future Royal Australian Air Force, Royal Australian Navy and the Australian Army pilots. Pilatus Aircraft will supply the aircraft and provide through-life engineering and airworthiness support. Hawker Pacific will provide maintenance services and fleet support. The first aircraft is due to be delivered in June 2017.
