The remains of Col. David H. Zook Jr. and Capt. Lorenza Conner, Air Force pilots missing since they died in separate crashes in Vietnam in October 1967, have been identified. Zook, from West Liberty, Ohio, was carrying out a psychological warfare mission in a U-10B aircraft on Oct. 4,1967 over Song Be Province, South Vietnam, when the U-1 OB collided in midair with a C-7A, crashed, and exploded. Excavations of the suspected crash site in 1992,1993, and in March 2008 recovered remains that forensic analysis proved to be his, DOD said Sept. 30.
