Why I chose the FM career field? To be honest, the Air Force made that decision for me when I received a ROTC scholarship at Mississippi State and was told to major in accounting. In fact, I had a lot to learn about the Air Force when I was commissioned. I had grown up in a small town without really knowing anyone in the military. While four years of Air Force ROTC provided some insight, it was my early assignments that first gave me an appreciation for the service and sacrifice of all Airmen (military and civilian) and the value of the FM career field. So, allow me to focus on why I've stayed for 31 years.
