The debate within the government on putting a halt to federal subsidies on gasoline has rung the alarm bell among a number of local players that import and retail oil products. The Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), the Nigerian National Petroleum Co. and the natural resources ministry are all being strenuously lobbied by the three biggest local operators: Capital Oil, run by Ifeanyi Ubah; Wale Tinubu's Oando group and Yinka Folawiyo & Sons.
