The Office Cherifien des Phosphates (OCP) is investing massively in its hospitality branch. One year after the creation of OCP Hospitality, its parent company hopes to make it a driving force in Morocco's luxury sector. On 29 March, OCP raised its capital from 320m dirhams (€30m) to 1.7b dirhams. €150M IN JUST ONE YEAR This is the third time OCP has injected capital into its hotel branch, created in December 2019 and comprised of OCP Hospitality, the Hassan Ⅱ Fund for Economic and Social Development and the national railway company ONCF. The grouping's hotels include the mythical Mamounia in Marrakech, the Jamai Palacein Fes, the Michlifen in Ifrane eand the Marchica Lagoon Resort in Nador. OCP Hospitality's capital was raised by 1bn dirhams (€94m) in January 2020 (Africa Intelligence, 20/02/20), and by 350m dirhams (€33m) in September. In addition, the ONCF announced it would provide over 500m dirhams (€47m) to renovate Jamai Palace.
