Today's facilities operations and maintenance professionals have a host of complicated topics to take into consideration. In the past, many of these issues, if they existed at all, were only minor considerations at the time: energy and resource efficiency; advanced real-time building automation controls; defending the operations budget; energy efficiency in air filtration systems; water efficiency and green water treatment methods; high efficiency lighting; and safety and security issues (not just how well the locks work, but learning about the latest security cameras and iris scanners).
