It's hard to overstate the role aerospace has played in advancing human development. In a few generations, humans went from walking on Earth to walking on the Moon and from riding horses to flying airplanes and spaceships. With each decade, aviation technology crossed another frontier and, with each crossing, the world changed. In 2016 - a year when the Royal Aeronautical Society celebrates its 150th anniversary and Boeing marks its 100th - aerospace continues to play an indispensable role connecting people, products and ideas; protecting nations and maintaining global stability; and exploring the cosmos and our oceans. While it's worth celebrating our achievements and the people responsible for them, it's even more important for our industry to imagine a brighter future and inspire a new generation of aerospace leaders to achieve it.
