Moving into the new year as well as closer to the date when the DOD will award the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) contract, both Boeing and Lockheed Martin have been putting their aircraft through flight testing at a rapid pace. To date, both Boeing's JSF (the X-32A) and Lockheed Martin's version (the X-35A) have completed first flight and first inflight refueling missions. The Boeing Co.'s X-32 has also completed lowspeed carrier testing.
