EADS (European Aeronautic Defense and Space) has created a research and technology (R&T) network throughout the company that helps to identify technologies that could have wider applications across the group and to define joint programs. Jean-Louis Gergorin, Head of Strategic Coordination and a member of the EADS Executive Committee, states that the company also has launched an internal competition to identify the most innovative projects within the group to receive significant funding for further development. The projects could be carried out at EADS's Corporate Research Center (such as the micro aerial vehicle), within business units, or in partnership with outside organizations.
