Qualifying space systems

Alcatel Alenia Space, an affiliate of Alcatel (67%) and Finmeccanica (33%), brings together the experience of Alcatel Space and Alenia Spazio to develop space systems for a broad range of applications that include navigation, telecommunications, environmental monitoring, and defense. The development of satellites at Alcatel Alenia Space involves extensive testing to validate the performance of a design against rigorous requirements. Severe testing is applied to verify if the satellite can actually withstand the extreme shock and vibration loading during liftoff, flight, and deployment.
