Standard inspections don't necessarily mean airworthiness for older GA aircraft

For older general aviation (GA) aircraft flown in high-cycle commuter/tourism roles, it might not be enough for operators to use standard inspection techniques to ensure that their aircraft are airworthy, according to Dale Cope, Director of the Aging Aircraft Research Laboratory at the National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR), Wichita State University, which recently completed one of the most extensive aging aircraft studies ever undertaken for GA aircraft.
