James Webb Space Telescope gets SpaceWired

NASA's James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has joined a growing list of applications that employ SpaceWire, an advanced-technology network interface that will help the telescope's components work more efficiently and reliably with each other. JWST, a joint project of NASA, the European Space Agency (ESA), and the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), will use a 6.5-m mirror to collect data that will help scientists explore the formation of galaxies, stars, and planets, as well as the evolution of our own solar system. It is expected to launch in 2013.
