British Airways (BA) globally operates a fleet of more than 280 aircraft ranging in size from the Embraer RJ145 and De Havilland DHC-8, to the Boeing 747-400. As with every airline, safety and reliability are the two most important aspects of maintenance. An essential element of achieving both rests with the BA Materials and Processes team based at London Heathrow (LHR), which provides specialist technical support across the airline around the world.
