ITH the centenaryTH of the formation of Handley Page Ltd coming up on June 17, it is almost as if fast-taxying preserved Victor K.2 ×M715 at Bruntingthorpe knew -rnand made a celebratory (albeit inadvertent) hop in honourrnof its maker's anniversary (see News, page 7). The sight of the still-futuristic-looking V-bomber back in the air after 15 years, however briefly, makes a great curtain-raiser to this special edition of Aeroplane, the first of what we hope will be perhaps yearly issues focusing on a specific aircraft company.rnAnother newsworthy event in recent weeks has been the shattering of the late Alex Henshaw's 1939 Cape Dash record after 70 years.
