Why FoxPro Still Matters

I had an interesting conversation with an end-user customer the other day about Visual FoxPro. He was still running an earlier version of a product that used the VFP 6 runtime and he asked me "Is VFP still around? Didn't Microsoft stop supporting it?" My response: Of course it's still around. Our new version uses Visual FoxPro 8. Microsoft has that version on its "what we support chart" until 2010 (see http://support.microsoft.com /default.aspx?scid=fh;[ln];LifeDevTool Fam). They are hard at work on a new version. And so on.
