Use Smart Cards in Visual FoxPro Applications

Smart cards have primarily been used as a security device. However, they also offer a small amount of secure portable storage. In Europe, most credit cards are smart cards because they eliminate the need to dial out for authorization. My (Mike's) cell phone, as well as a typical European cell phone, has a smart card in it. When I get a new phone, I transfer the chip, with all my settings and information to my new phone. Even my satellite TV receiver has a smart card in it.
