NEDCC GETS $250,000 IMLS GRANT

The Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC), Andover, MA, has received a $250,000 grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS) to use imaging techniques to preserve fragile and historic sound recordings. NEDCC will be able to provide this much-needed service for the first time to museums, libraries, and archives around the country and will use new technologies to convert audio recordings from obsolete formats, such as wax cylinders and records, to new digital formats.
