PROQUEST TO ACQUIRE EX LIBRIS

ProQuest has signed an agreement to acquire Ex Libris Group from San Francisco-based private equity firm Golden Gate Capital. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed; however, industry sources place the value of the deal at some $500 million. (Golden Gate Capital purchased Ex Libris from Leeds Equity Partners in November 2012 for $250 million.) The acquisition is expected to close in the coming months. In the immediate future, there will be no changes to either company. However, product, personnel, and business strategies are still being reviewed.
