One dimension (ID) nanorod particles or nanostructured metal oxides, especially complex oxides, have important applications in various areas including catalysts, sensors, semiconductor electronics, and photoelectronics. This is because the properties of materials, such as catalytic activity, sensitivity, conductivity, or photonic efficiency, is often closely related to their surface areas and particle sizes in these various applications. Nanorod or nanoparticle materials usually offer larger surface areas than the corresponding solid films or bulk materials.
