Organic semiconductor materials and devices are beginning to infiltrate the electronics sector on a large scale, typically in short-terra-use devices that are quickly becoming a part of everyday life. Estimations are that organic electronic materials and devices will be a multibillion dollar market in the next decade. Widespread interest in semiconducting polymers stems primarily from their exceptional processability. Polymers can be readily applied with solution techniques such as roll-to-roll coating, ink-jet printing, or even silk screening. This unique advantage translates into low manufacturing costs with the potential for large-area, conformal devices.
