Asteadily growing output of energy-related papers and the number of new topical conferences scheduled to be held in the course of this year are further testimony to the growing importance of energy research. Materials scientists and colleagues from neighboring disciplines are putting strong effort into addressing this challenge, and subsequently interest in pertinent papers has skyrocketed. After the inaugural issue of Advanced Energy Materials was joined by further energy papers at the top of the most downloaded list of Advanced Materials in February, I am thrilled to present more of these very best results in this second installment of our new feature.
