摘要

The separation of saturated and unsaturated hydrocarbons is one of the most expensive and most energy-consuming separation processes in the petrochemical industry.Olefins such as propylene are separated from their paraffin pendants by distillation.Due to the very small vapor pressure difference between the olefin and paraffin species, such distillation processes need to be staged in large columns requiring tremendous amounts of energy.
