Video has always been an integral part of medical/scientific, government, and professional markets. Once limited to analog presentation and distribution, presentations are migrating to a digital format. Compressing and translating source material acquired with video cameras created for television viewing pose unique problems when integrated into digital presentations. The complexity of determining which frame size, frame rate and CODEC (COmpres-sion/DECompression) is best for a distribution model and viewing device can be daunting. Many digital distribution models require careful selection of these parameters to retain an intelligible program. Video content translated for distribution on CD has distinctly different limitations to LAN/WAN streaming models.
