Anticipating problems with supply, box manufacturer CIMC is now aiming for self-sufficiency, while SCRC is importing hi-tech machinery from the US, Europe and Japan. China International Marine Containers (CIMC), the world's largest box builder, and Singamas Container Holdings are pressing ahead with their operations in China, despite low dry-freight container prices and fierce competition from around 40 other box manufacturers on the mainland.
