If you need to display data quickly, the DataGrid is generally your best bet. It binds to a DataSet easily and it displays each column and row of data without any intervention from you. Unfortunately, your options are limited when it comes to how the DataGrid presents the data. Although you can select from a wide array of customizing styles using the Auto Format feature, you're still locked into the standard row / cell display. Fortunately, the DataGrid isn't your only option for displaying data. If you crave a little more flexibility in the layout of your data, you should give the DataList server control a try.
