The Journal ACTA POLYTECHNICA, which you have just received, is the scientific Journal of the Czech Technical University in Prague. The Journal first appeared in 1961 under the name "Proceedings of the Czech Technical University". At that time, it was published on an irregular basis, as and when sufficient scientific material became available. The main reason for establishing the Journal was to support publication of the results of scientific and research activities for all the Czech technical universities. Five years later, in 1966, the Journal was renamed Acta Polytechnica.
