摘要

The equilibrium configurations and positions of coaxial prismatic dislocation loops are derived using a new algorithm based on minimizing system configurational energy. Solutions in an explicit form are derived for two limiting cases, and the corresponding validity conditions presented. A natural material length scale is found which sets the scale for size-dependent plasticity phenomena. A size-sensitivity diagram is derived from the analysis which serves as a guideline in the study of size-dependent plasticity.
