Aaron Barlow, an assistant professor of English at New York City College of Technology, follows up his previous look at the pre-history of blog-ging with an optimistic examination of the role of blogs in the new public sphere. While his earlier work, The Rise of the Blogsphere (Praeger, 2007) placed blogging as the heir to a tradition of citizen journalism stretching back to eighteenth-century pamphleteers, this book gives a closer examination of blogs as they exist in today's media context.
