Archives and the Digital Library

摘要

Technology continues to have a tremendous impact on the services and resources provided by library and information science professionals. Thisrnis especially true in the creation of digital libraries from archival material. Archives are now charged with preserving nondigital items and preserving digital text. In addition to this basic challenge, archives now have to find a means to make this material easily searchable and available through digital libraries. This process produces challenges in funding, staffing, and accessibility.
