摘要

Recently in the blog-o-sphere and throughout Interweb land, librarians have identified a new David to champion. Geoff Nunberg, an adjunct professor at the I-School in Berkeley, served as a panelist at The Google Books Settlement and the Future of Information Access and proceeded to point out that Optical Character Recognition (OCR)-based metadata was not "good enough" for anyone attempting to perform in-depth scholarly analysis on the textual materials made available via Google Books.
