Post-Tensioned Anchorage Zones with Single Straight Concentric Anchorages

On reading this interesting paper, the writers would like to offer some comments and seek some clarifications on what appear to be anomalies in the test results. While the authors' proposed design method is particularly aimed at loads from post-tensioning anchorages, it is also applicable to any concrete panel subject to a similar concentrated load. A steel column base plate on a concrete pedestal would be a common application of the proposed method. It is worth contrasting the authors' proposed design method with the conventional methods for dealing with confined concrete bearing zones.
