摘要

Effective beam width and equivalent frame models are commonly used in design to model the lateral load response of slab - column frames. An analytical evaluation of these two models is made, consid - ering effects of connection and panel geometry, as well as effects of cracking on frame stiffness. Models suitable for design office imple - mentation are recommended. Results of the recommended models are compared with experimental data obtained from tests of a 0.4-scale, multipanel, slab - column frame.
