摘要

Corrosion of steel dowels in concrete pavements reduces their use - ful service life and creates considerable maintenance and repair expenditures for concrete pavements. Glass fiber - reinforced poly - mer (GFRP) dowel bars are a possible maintenance - free alterna - tive that will potentially reduce the overall life cycle cost of pavements, especially in corrosive environments. This paper describes the performance of GFRP dowel bars under static and cyclic loads. Dowels were used for a slab/joint model tested under laboratory conditions.
