The experimental results of four column specimens laterally reinforced with either double-head studs or conventional crossties under seismic loading are presented. The columns' dimension are 250 x 500 x 1500 mm, and are laterally loaded to bend about their weak axis. The specimens are made from 25 MPa concrete and tested under Two axial load levels combined with incrementally increasing lateral- Displacement reversals.
