摘要

This is an interesting paper, but it has some significant omissions and apparent conflicts that reduce its usefulness, plus a variety of editorial problems. The Table 1, Column 3, heading should be mm~2 (in.~2). The failure strains listed for the CFRP material in Table 1 are in great conflict with those shown in Fig. 1(c). Figure 1(c) shows four stress strain curves with quite different slopes, with no explanation or comment about the differences. None agree with Table 1, on the basis of either failure strain or elastic modulus. The left-most curve has E≈ 30,000 MPa = 30 GPa while the right-most curve has E≈ 18GPa.
