Air circulation in aeroplanes

As technology has advanced we have seen the introduction of bigger and faster aircraft capable of flying longer distances at altitudes well over 40,000 feet. The comfort of those on board depends on a number of factors. One of them is the design and operation of the plane's air-conditioning and ventilation system, which controls the temperature, flow, distribution and filtration of air. There is little doubt that along with other technology the system of air recirculation in planes has advanced considerably in recent years, but questions have been raised and continue to be raised about the quality of the air in the cabin, particularly on long haul flights and about whether the current system poses a risk to the health of passengers and crew.
