On February 20 Physicians Lost One of Our Greatest Heroes

As Missouri physicians combat the COVID-19 pandemic, we are faced with longer work hours, increased patient mortality, fear, rationing, and burnout. While most of us are armed with the coping mechanisms to combat these issues; there are those of us that likely have or will use a substance to cope. All too often, these behaviors metastasize hijacking our day-today lives and ultimately result in addiction. I know because this happened to me.
